Illawarra officially announced Naar had penned a three year deal with the club on Wednesday.
The point guard recently finished up a four year career at St Mary’s College where he broke the school’s all-time assist record formerly held by Boomers representative and NBA guard Matthew Dellavedova.
Naar will help fill the void left by former starting guard Mitch Norton, who has already departed the club for Perth Wildcats. Hawks coach Rob Beveridge was pleased to be able to bring in young talent to the Hawks roster.
“Emmett Naar is an extremely smart point guard that I am sure our fans will enjoy watching play,” he said.
“He is a pass first guard who will look to get his teammates into the game quickly, but a guy who is capable of scoring himself when needed”

“By having such a young player who will grow and flourish in our system is key for not just this season, but for the future of our program.”
Narr averaged 9.9 points and six assists per game throughout his college career, which was also the home of San Antonio Spurs guard Patt Mills. He is just the second player signed to the Hawks after AJ Ogilvy.
