ILLAWARRA have added another puzzle piece to their roster, confirming the signing of swingman Todd Blanchfield on a three year deal.

The 26-year-old links with the club after securing a release from the final year of his deal with Sydney to commit to the Hawks long-term.

Blanchfield is the fourth addition to the Hawks roster for next season alongside veteran pair AJ Ogilvy and Tim Coenraad and St Marys alum Emmett Naar.

“We’re excited to have Todd on board as a Hawk,” Hawks general manager Mat Campbell said.

“We believe the Hawks environment will bring out the best in him. He’s a team first player which will fit well within our Hawks culture.”

“Adding Todd to the line up is an important part of the season’s roster. We have some quality Australian talent, which we can now look to complement with three import positions still available.

“We are focused on putting all the right pieces together to ensure a competitive and exciting team this season.”

The AIS program graduate has racked up over 200 games in the NBL since debuting with Townsville in 2009 and spent two seasons with Melbourne United before shifting to the Kings.
