Illawarra are fourth in the league after nine rounds, but remain firmly in the hunt for the regular season crown heading into the weekend.
Just three points separate them from ladder leaders Manly United.
They’ve chalked up consecutive wins in the past fortnight to close the margin to the top.
Moscato was keen for her squad to continue in the same vein against Koalas at JJ Kelly Park on Sunday.
“It’s a must-win for us,” she said.
“It’s not only the points or the goals, it is more about the mentality of staying consistent.
“I am happy with what we are doing in most moments, but if we are going to be a championship team we have to tidy up in every area.”
Moscato said Illawarra were focused on improving their defence of set piece scenarios, but was happy with the strides her back four have made in recent weeks.
The Rays have back-to-back clean sheets in decisive wins over Sutherland Shire and Bankstown City.
Matildas representative Caitlin Cooper has returned from international duty to play a part in both matches.
“She has solidified everything,” Moscato said.
“You can’t just replace anyone that has her kind of experience.
“She has come back from national team duty sharp and hungry.
“She makes the players around her better as well.
“The first thing I noticed when she came back was the intensity of the session.
“It ups the ante to have someone around with that kind of presence.”
The Stingrays will have a full complement of players to choose from for the clash against Koalas.
"It's always nice to have a deep, healthy roster to chose from," Moscato said.
Meanwhile, the battling South Coast Flame will attempt to end a five match win-less run in the NSW State League when they host fifth-placed Nepean FC at John Crehan Park on Saturday evening.
