Conklin has played in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and France since leaving the NBL as it's reigning best player in 2015 and has been strongly linked to a shift to Wollongong.
The 28-year-old would bring a hard edge inside that the club has sorely lacked in recent seasons but Campbell said no deal has been done.
“We have spoken to a number of agents trying to find the right players for our club both on and off the court,” Campbell said.
“We feel that a player like Brian Conklin could be a great fit, however rumours that he is signed with the Hawks are not true. The club is currently looking at a number of options of which Brian is definitely a part of.
“We will continue to look outside the box to find the right fit for our club.”
