Walking Football was launched at the Fraternity Club last week as part of a new program run by Football South Coast.
The program, which is supported by Football NSW and the New Government – Family and Community Services, aims to improve physical activity in over 50’s while promoting sociable environments.
“Walking Football is one of the fastest growing formats in the UK. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the community to continue to keep playing the beautiful game,” Football South Coast chief executive Ann-Marie Balliana said.
“The program will allow participants to play in a fun, social, accessible and inclusive environment.”
FSC held a come and try day last Thursday last week in Fairy Meadow.
The program is aimed at both men and women and is played in a modified format, with five or six players on both sides.
It’s non-contact while walking rules apply to general play.
