The truck movements – starting from June 4 – will be part of essential maintenance work on Sea Cliff Bridge along Lawrence Hargrave Drive.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the government was spending $3.5 million to protect bridge piers and improve slope stability at the northern end of the famous structure.
“Motorists will notice an increase in the number of heavy vehicles on Lawrence Hargrave Drive as rocks are transported from an Albion Park quarry,” the spokesperson said.
“The deliveries to the stockpile site in Coalcliff will take place during restricted daylight hours to reduce disruptions to nearby residents and all road users.”
The rock will be delivered on weekdays between 8am and 3pm and should be completed in about a month.
Work on the project to repair the bridge is expected to get under way in late July.
It will take about four months to complete, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to plan their journey and allow extra travel time, as delays of up to five minutes are expected while the deliveries take place.
