The exhibition will concentrate on a little known part of the life of one of Australia’s most famous artists, and the work inspired by the landscape of the Shoalhaven River surrounding Bundanon.
“This funding will allow Bundanon to share these iconic works capturing the beauty of our local landscapes with audiences in other parts of Australia,” Gilmore MP Ann Sudmalis said.
Minister for the Arts Senator Mitch Fifield said the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach (NCITO) funding ensures that Australians living in regional and remote areas can enjoy a range of high quality exhibitions from our national collection.
“The Government is committed to making sure all Australians have the opportunity to experience our national collections. These exhibitions bring our rich culture and history to life and we’re making exhibitions available to people across Australia no matter what your postcode is,” Minister Fifield said.
Established in 1993, on behalf of the Australian people, the federal government accepted the gift of Bundanon and a parcel of other properties (1100 hectares in total) on the Shoalhaven River, from Boyd and his wife Yvonne.
The Trust supports arts practice and engagement with the arts through its residency, education, exhibition and performance programs.
