Oceanna Rogers, 13, is fresh off a win in the Illawarra regional surfing titles (under-14s girls) last weekend at Sandon Point, and she's working towards even bigger things.
“I was really stoked – I’ve been training heaps and for me to win it this year was a good achievement,” she said.
She trains regularly – surfing, but also agility and mental work through the Illawarra Academy of Sport.
And then there’s school, at Warilla High.
“It’s a little hard because I have a lot of assignments to do and I want to be surfing every day – but sometimes you’ve got to put school first,” she said.
Oceanna doesn’t lack for courage – as these photos from the Farm show.
“It wasn’t that big,” she said. “About six feet”.
