The students gave up almost 620 hours of their time collectively to help support local groups including AIME, ASPECT, Conservation Volunteers, KidzWish, Wollongong Red Cross Blood Donations and Headspace, as part of the UniLife Volunteering Program.
An official event – which coincided with National Volunteers Week – was held at the university campus today to honour the dedicated students.
UOW Pulse volunteering coordinator Micheala Morgan lauded the volunteers for their efforts.
“Our volunteers have shown exceptional dedication and passion for getting involved in the campus and local community,” she said.
“This event is an opportunity for us to give back to those who have give their time for us, as well as generating awareness about volunteering opportunities available to students.”
