In the inaugural season of the women’s league, the Saints marched to a 107-point win over Nowra-Albatross, while the Lions overpowered Dapto City by 76 points.
But Bomaderry had a much more difficult assignment, needing a last quarter goal to outlast Northern Districts 4.7 (31) to 4.1 (25) at Artie Smith Oval.
Sophie Phillips was rated Bomaderry’s best, while Kelly Lowry kicked two for Northern Districts, who led by three points at half-time.
In the other game, Kiama cemented their place in the top four with a 61-point win over Ulladulla, Phoebe Roman and Sarah Wilton kicking three each for the Power, with Emma May Carberry named best-on-ground.
In the AFL Sydney Women’s division one, Wollongong Saints won the grand final rematch against Western Magic 6.2 (38) to 2.3 (15).
