It was a successful weekend for the junior Wollongong Wolves sides, with three of the club’s four junior sides claiming victories over Sydney United 58 FC on Saturday.
The under 13s kicked off the day’s proceedings with a 3-0 victory over their more fancied rivals. Jay De Gouveia opened the scoring for the side before Jayden Branovski made it 2-0 before the break. De Gouveia added a second in the second half to round out the scoring.
The under 14s entered the matchup significant underdogs, with Sydney United 58 sitting atop the competition table. The Wolves fought hard throughout the entire match, however, restricting their undefeated opponents to a nil-all draw.
The under 15s claimed a 1-0 victory over Sydney United 58 thanks to a first-half goal to Tony Krstevski. And the under 16s were also victorious, drawing level with Sydney United 58 on the table after winning 1-0, a Lewis Grimshaw goal the difference.
