Giant glowing rabbits (art installations previously seen at the Vivid Festival) will be placed around the mall from June 21 to 23, complemented by a changing line-up of musicians curated by local record labels Spunk Records and Music Farmers.
The next element in the mix are what’s being called “pop-up performances” in shopfront windows or out in the mall, devised by Emma Saunders.
“I want us to see the mall differently, as a creative space, a theatre, a dance floor,” Ms Saunders said.
“Where Elvis Presley meets John Travolta meets Pina Bausch meets The Final Countdown.
“It can also be an imaginative space. I want to break down who dances where and why and celebrate the spaces in between us, and swallow the space whole with our humanity.”
The three nights of music kicks off on Thursday June 21 at 6pm in the lower Mall and on the main stage from Friday at 6pm.
