Emergency services, including police and a Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crew, were called to an address on the street just after 4pm and found a major main on the street outside an apartment complex had ruptured.
A large amount of water flowed onto the street, between WIN Stadium and Crown Street.
A FRNSW spokesman said its crew wasn’t required on the scene for long and had left the location by about 4.15pm.
“It was determined that it was a static supply of water in the building that had ruptured,” he said.
“The water wasn’t causing any damage and the installation service was on the scene.
“Once firefighters had determined that it wasn’t a safety issue and causing any damage … they left things in the hands of the installation service.”
The water authority was notified.
