The surf lifesaving IRB powerhouse finished on 27 points for the series, conceding the title to arch-rivals Caves Beach at the weekend.
Woonona also showed they can be a force of the future with 17 points overall be sixth on the overall tally.
“It is very special to win this on our home beach,” Scott Bryant, Caves Beach IRB coach and manager said, in celebrating the title triumph.
“Kiama Downs are an exceptional team and we’ve had a lot of great races over the years. We lost a lot of competitors and spent many years rebuilding.
“I thought it was perhaps a year too soon for them but they’ve done incredibly well. To win it with my mates kids and my own as well is pretty special.”
With the five-round series over, the state championships will be held at South West Rocks in July.
