A 30-year-old man has been taken to Liverpool Hospital by helicopter after suffering an injury at the Kangaroo Valley Pumping and Power Station.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 8.25am on Thursday after reports a male worker had suffered a chest injury.
The man is believed to have been hit in the chest with a 5000 KPA airline, causing a 3cm to 5cm laceration in his chest.
Initial reports from a NSW Ambulance spokesperson suggested he was conscious and alert and had a possible punctured lung.
Just after 9.30am he was transported to Liverpool Hospital.
Earlier: The rescue chopper is on its way to Kangaroo Valley following reports a man has suffered a sucking chest wound.
At this stage it is unknown what caused the injury to the man in his 30s.
Ambulance crews were called to a business address on Jacks Corner Road at Kangaroo Valley at 8.25am.
The reports suggest the man has a puncture to one of his lungs.
The rescue helicopter has been called to transport the patient, but fog in the area may hamper its ability to land.
