The year-long Film Studies Program will give people with a disability the opportunity to develop knowledge about the art of film-making, learn about subjects taught in film skills and get first-hand experience on how films are made.
Participants will also develop skills in communication, work readiness, social skills, and confidence.
“We have wanted to bring our film studies program to regional locations for a long time,” Bus Stop Films CEO Genevieve Clay-Smith said.
“We hope this partnership will provide local people with an intellectual disability the opportunity to learn and gain opportunities which help them realise their full potential.”
Flagstaff provide employment and skills development opportunities for over 250 people on the South Coast living with a disability, as well as providing training and support programs.
The program is delivered in three-hour workshops on Saturdays with Term One starting August 4.
