Helensburgh’s Grant Smith will play his 150th game in Tigers colours against Collegians at Rex Jackson Oval on Saturday, while Thirroul skipper will do the same for the Butchers at Parrish Park.
Known affectionately as ‘the warrior’ Smith was man of the match in the Tigers’ 2015 grand final win, a season in which he also claimed the Paul McGregor Medal as the league’s best and fairest.
Butchers captain Johnson was also named the Illawarra League’s Best and Fairest player in 2012. It continues a big year for milestones in the Illawarra League.
Wests forward Wade Standford played his 100th first grade game for the Devils three weeks ago while with Berkeley’s Ainsley Langston and Helensburgh’s Erin Blackwell have become the first two members of Illawarra Women’s League 100-club.
