Inner-city Wollongong is set to get an influx of senior citizens, due to the construction of the development.
Retirement housing group IRT began construction of the new eight-level independent living development in mid-2016.
The $35 million building will house 75 two and three-bedroom apartments over six upper levels, and was constructed next to the organisation’s existing Howard Court apartment building at the corner of Stewart and Kembla streets.
“Residents have started to move into Parkside at IRT Pioneer Place and will continue to do so in the coming weeks as finishing touches are made and landscaping is completed,” an IRT spokesperson said.
“We are pleased that 66 of the 75 apartments have been sold and more than 100 people have expressed an interest to inspect the remaining apartments.”
Prices vary depending on the apartment and the pricing option chosen, but begin from approximately $500,000.
