The Bridge Street-Springhill Road intersection can become congested due to people turning right in and out of nearby Tate Avenue.
On Friday, June 29, Council has installed a concrete median in the middle of Bridge Street near the intersection to put an end to those right turns.
“Council had been monitoring traffic in the area and both right turns into, and out of, Tate Avenue were causing issues with traffic congestion and delays in the area, particularly during peak periods,” a council spokeswoman said.
“While the number of crashes at this intersection is not high, the median will improve the safety of drivers, and traffic flow to and from Springhill Road.”
The council’s traffic committee, which includes representative from NSW Police and RMS, was consulted.
