Creative director Sarah Nicholson said the festival celebrates the talents of women writers who reclaim, restore, and reimagine women’s stories.
The inaugural Heroines Festival will include author discussions (such as with Miles Franklin Award finalist Catherine McKinnon), short films and the launch of an anthology of stories and poems on September 5, plus a three-week-long writing program for teenage girls.
