10.10am: Fire crews are working to extinguish a large shed fire at Wombarra.
A Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) spokeswoman said firefighters were called to Barton Place just before 10am on Monday following reports a large shed was on fire.
The shed, believed to be 60 metres by 30 metres in size, was well alight, the spokeswoman said.
FRNSW crews from Scarborough and Thirroul are on the scene, with additional crews from surrounding suburbs en route to the scene.
A number of NSW Rural Fire Service resources – including a bulk water tanker – are also heading to the scene.
It is understood the shed is separate from other structures and no houses are under threat.
More to come.
