Call it a specific, catchy name such as Babymoon - have a look at some of the modern words being added to the dictionary or trending right now.
There’s a word of the year annually and this can give you a clue as to the groundswell of public opinion.
For example, ‘youthquake’ was the ‘it’ word of last year - it meant young people were becoming more influential.
Other words of the year include hypermiling (being energy efficient), locavore (locally grown or produced food), carbon neutral (being green), etc.
Alternatively if you want to be old school, then appeal to those values such as service – give customers and clients what they want.
Keep it fresh and strive to be better than before. Be honest - speak their language and position yourself as an expert in the field.
Other ways to gain attention is to be green - being environmentally friendly is popular with everyone.
Being community minded gets people’s attention too. This can involve sponsoring a local rugby team, volunteering your time at a charity event, and much more.
Look at competitors - see if you can offer better value for money, a better service, an improved product, etc.
Provide a free trial or a money-back warranty if that is a point of difference with your competitors.
Use straightforward communication and inject some personality into what you do.
Remember, it’s all about change so you need to keep up with what is happening.
Blogs, Facebook and other social media all help as does a solid website - make it easy for your clients to communicate with you.
It’s how you react to negativity and criticism that can set you apart, for example, if you quickly resolve any issues to the satisfaction of clients.
It’s better to do something well than being all over the place. It helps to have an efficient, enthusiastic team too.
