Burford is attempting to play the guitar for 125 hours straight, the top record for Longest Guitar Playing Marathon, and raise money for charity Musicians Making A Difference.
On Wednesday his left hand fingers were looking a tad worse for wear after strumming for more than 75 hours, though his spirit had not waned.
“I feel like I’m on the home stretch, it’s a big hurdle I’ve had to get over in my head,” Burford said. “I’m pretty tired I’m about to go and have a massive 20 minutes of sleep.”
Legendary guitarist Emmanuel made a phone call to give encouragement to Burford, while Frenzal Rhomb guitarist Lindsay McDougall has also stopped by Engadine Music where the marathon is happening.
