She will be sorely missed by the many people whose lives she improved with her deep understanding and care.
Dr Young worked in general practice majoring in psychiatrist in Wollongong for 18 years.
Dr Young graduated from Sydney University in 1993.
She studied Psychiatry in Sydney in Prince Henry Hospital, Children’s clinics and other locations. After Dr Young married her husbands work took her to the United Kingdom.
She worked there in the British Health System. She continued work there after she was widowed until 1999 when she returned to Australia.
Dr Young moved to work in Wollongong in 1999, first in a New South Wales Government post and the striking out on her own doing psychiatric work in her private practice.
Dr Young was a very caring person and had a big impact on the lives of those she treated. She would attend court with them to sort out their legal problems.
She would assist them through the mire of Centrelink.
Wollongong recognised her for her work in the community by naming her woman of the year.
She is survived by a son and daughter and 3 grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held at H Parsons in Wollongong.

ALL THE LITTLE KINGDOMS
The crooks are running the country and think that they can do as they see fit to make a profit for themselves and to hell with the rights of those who voted them into Parliament.
We have obviously got to many Politicians who can be bought for thirty pieces of silver.
We really only need a Federal Government as the state ones are no longer needed they are just a financial drain on the nation.
We need to have one form of Government and law that covers the whole of Australia as a single nation and not as at present, a conglomerate of little kingdoms.

LACKING CREDIBILITY
In response to the page 11 article " Musk takes aim at UK Thai cave rescuer" (Illawarra Mercury, Wednesday July 18, 2018) Elon Musk continues to show he lacks credibility.
Australia's blackout State, South Australia accepted Musk's lithium battery which when fully charged could power the state for six minutes.
More recently the Tesla co-founder launched a bizarre attack on a British cave diver who played a crucial role in the rescue of the Thai soccer team, calling the rescuer a "pedo" because he lives in Thailand.
Musk made the claim as he defended his offer of a mini-sub to help the rescue effort, which cave diving expert Vernon Unsworth had slammed as a "PR stunt."
Mr Unsworth acknowledged the sub was small but also rigid and wouldn't have gone round the obstacles within the cave.
By pointing this out Mr Unsworth is telling Elon Musk he is just blowing hot air because he neither understands nor appreciated the situation.
Falsely calling a rescue worker a pedophile - I'd suggest that will cost Musk a hell of a lot, both in money and in reputation.

WOLLONGONG COUNCIL TO BUILD $1 MILLION POWERLINES ACROSS THE ESCARPMENT
See how much the power companies in California have been at fault because their lines short out on windy days and create multi-billion dollar forest fires aka the fires in Napa last year where over 500-plus homes were burnt and destroyed.
