Achieving a calorie deficit is where our bodies burn more calories than what we ingest.
If this is the case we lose body fat, it’s that simple.
The main ways to cause a calorie deficit include:
Move more. Whether it’s walking, training, lifting weights, we simply need to burn more energy.
Eat/Drink less. By eating or drinking less we consume less calories that essentially have to be burnt off.
Lift more. By lifting more weight we have more muscle mass on our frame that essentially allows us to burn more calories at rest.
We can often overcomplicate these facts, but it is essentially this easy.
Adopt one, two or three of the following above points and you will be on your way to calorie deficit.
