About 3.45pm on Saturday, they were called to reports of a truck and motorcycle crash.
The crash occurred about seven kilometres west of Mount Keira Road, with Fire and Rescue Crews, paramedics and Roads and Maritime Services responding.
Initial reports indicated a male patient – the motorcycle rider – in his mid-to-late 30s was injured.
He was partially protected by the thick motocycle gear he was wearing, but was suffering from abrasions and other injuries.
Paramedics said he would be transported by road ambulance to Wollongong hospital.
Separately, emergency services on the crash scene reported that a fully loaded fuel tanker carrying diesel was on fire further west on Picton Road.
No people were reported to be injured or trapped, however the road was closed in both directions due to the fire.
Paramedics said there were a number of cars stuck between the two incidents.
At 4.30pm, the state’s transport management centre advised motorists to avoid the area.
Light vehicles can use Wilton Road, Appin Road and the Princes Highway instead while heavy vehicles will need to use the Hume Motorway, Appin Road and the Princes Highway.
