The event, held at Eastern Creek, saw hundreds of the state’s best runners battle it out for NSW honours and positions in the team to contest this month’s Australian Championships on the Sunshine Coast.
The competition started perfectly for the TIGS contingent, with James Seal winning the opening race of the day, the boys 18 years eight kilometre race.
James Healey then continued the positive start with a gold medal in the 15 years boys 4km event. Youngster Jack McCatchie finished off the successful day, picking up a silver medal in the 12 years boys 3km race.
Wollongong primary school athletes also performed well, with Kaja Wolter, Montana Doubell and Maeve Bradbury all finishing sixth in their respective races.
