RSPCA Unanderra are bringing some of their cats out to play at Wollongong Central

Love them or hate them, felines around the globe are being celebrated on Wednesday for International Cat Day and you can introduce one to your family.

In 2015 there were more than two million cat videos on YouTube with genres featuring felines of all shapes and sizes.

The cat holding the Guinness World Record for Longest Tail on a Domestic Cat is Cygnus from the US, with a tail span of 44.66 centimetres.

Australia’s total pet cat population is estimated to be almost 3.9 million, according to an Animal Medicines Australia report. However many end up at RSPCA shelters.

Staff from the Unanderra RSPCA are looking for adoptive parents for their kittens and cats. Some of them will be out to play from 10am to 2pm at Wollongong Central on Wednesday August 8 to meet prospective adoptive families.
