The cat holding the Guinness World Record for Longest Tail on a Domestic Cat is Cygnus from the US, with a tail span of 44.66 centimetres.
His brother Arcturus also holds the record for Tallest Domestic Cat, standing at 48.4 centimetres tall and weighing about 13.6 kilograms.
Australia’s total pet cat population is estimated to be almost 3.9 million, according to an Animal Medicines Australia report. However many end up at RSPCA shelters.
Staff from the Unanderra RSPCA are looking for adoptive parents for their kittens and cats. Some of them will be out to play from 10am to 2pm at Wollongong Central on Wednesday August 8 to meet prospective adoptive families.
