PhycoHealth’s Phycofood division was named one of the dozen successful producers by Minister for Trade and Industry Niall Blair following a search for the state’s tastiest food and beverages to fly the NSW flag at the Southern Hemisphere’s largest food industry trade expo.
Mr Blair said the “Flavours of NSW” stand at Fine Food Australia in Melbourne was the annual Olympics for food.
More than 1000 exhibitors from over 60 countries will compete for the attention of more than 20,000 food industry buyers and importers.
“The event gives NSW food and beverage producers a chance to market their brands to a who’s who of the industry and sell their products to the nation and the world,” Mr Blair said.
“We have assembled a diverse list of our best and most innovative producers to showcase what we’re made of here in NSW.
“Our products will include mouth-watering artisan cheeses, gourmet coffee, native bush food, award winning condiments, sugar free chocolate, seaweed infused creations, and niche beverages including craft ginger beer and Snowy Mountains schnapps”.
PhycoHealth at Bomaderry supplies health, food and skin products that promote the benefits of seaweed.
Its Phycofood range is made up of nutritional foods infused with cultivated seaweed and packed with nutrients.
Its products include Sea C's and PhycoBites snacks, Phettucine pasta; 'PhycoMuesli, Phycodamias nuts with seaweed and wasabi as well as a Phukka blend of seaweed, pistachio and Mediterranean herbs phycohealth.com
Fine Food Australia runs from September 10 to 13.
The trade-only event is targeted at professionals working in the foodservice, hospitality and retail industries.
The NSW Department of Industry is providing subsidised spots to promote the 12 NSW companies chosen.
