The league will see some of football's most talented juniors representing 10 academies from around NSW face off in a seven-a-side format. Under eight, under 10, under 12 and under 14 divisions will be contested.
IFA Academy Director Mark Tyssen said the competition will provide talented junior football players with the opportunity to play against high-quality opponents during the football offseason.
“The new Academy League will open up doors and pathways for aspiring local talented junior soccer players,” Tyssen said. “Local players will gain the opportunity to compete against SAP players, NPL players and advanced club players this summer.”
Trials for the IFA team will be held at the Illawarra Hockey Centre on August 26. Registration is essential.
