Expressions of Interest are being sought for hotel owners and operators to bring Shell Cove’s Waterfront Tavern to life.
The 1086sqm tavern is being offered as a freehold investment and been designed to include a family bistro area, sports bar with TAB, gaming room, informal indoor and outdoor seating, private dining areas, freestanding bar, open plan kitchen and fireplace seating.
The Waterfront Tavern will cantilever over the new public boardwalk and marina to enable views of the harbour to the north and east.
Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba urged the “best and brightest publicans to take advantage of this rare opportunity to secure a beautiful tavern in one of the most beautiful places in the world”.
Glenn Colquhoun, development director – Shell Cove at Frasers Property Australia said the new Waterfront Tavern will rank among the most panoramic on Australia’s East Coast.
“A town’s tavern has always been its heartbeat – a place for residents and visitors to eat, drink and relax while enjoying their surroundings,” Mr Colquhoun said.
“Shell Cove is a family-focused community and the tavern will be a place for the whole family to enjoy.”
The new Waterfront Tavern at The Waterfront, Shell Cove is expected to be completed in 2021.
EOI close September 5.
The EOI campaign to find an owner-operator for the Waterfront Tavern is being run by Andrew Jolliffe of HTL Property.
Shell Cove is a joint development between Shellharbour City Council and Frasers Property Australia.
A focal point will be the boat harbour and marina next to The Waterfront, Shell Cove’s town centre, featuring a retail precinct, specialty shops, restaurants on the marina’s edge, hotel, children’s beach, water play areas, library, community centre and the tavern.
