Much is written about about our young people. It is hard not to be influenced by what is written and to be part of the conversations that reinforce stereotypes, the hoodies, the flannies, how the language is used and the preponderance of the use of what I consider expletives.

Our young people can be the wasted generation if we allow it. if we look into history we had two world wars that consumed generations and they responded heroically.
We need to embrace our young people and make life sustainable for them. That means us as individuals and corporations doing their bit.
it also means that unemployment and other benefits need to be raised to a allow people a decent life. One can only guess what is being fermented out there?

Breaking ties
Congratulations to Wollongong to students for demanding the university ‘break ties with the weapons companies’ and for their slogan ‘Books Before Bombs’.
It is an important initiative.
An initiative that fosters discussion on the human, economic and political costs of this production, not that it will just produce jobs and growth’. It’s insidious influence now dominates the political and economic agenda.
Money that should go to our infrastructure goes to a wasteful and immoral production. And lies are told to wage wars to keep the munitions factories rolling.

Stuck his foot in it
Response to the article "REEF GRANT DEFENDED" Mercury, Friday August 10, 2018. Well the Federal Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg has stuck his foot in his mouth over the $444 million grant to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
As the article points out in the final sentence Mr Frydenberg told 2GB "Why we choose this organisation was because it was pre-eminent in raising funds from the private sector."
Indeed, this is an even greater reason for not giving the $444 million. Afterall, if this foundation is so good at raising money from the private sector - then hand back the entire $444 million and the government can divide it between supporting farmers and water infrastructure.
Australia's interests play second fiddle to the Turnbull government who are truly green ratbags wedded to the UN Paris Climate Agreement.

How good is that! WIN will broadcast Sky News throughout regional Australia free-to-air, starting sometime around September.
Now those living in our regions will be able to escape the nasty, one-sided ABC and watch (and hear) specialised current affairs and political comment hosted by, and presented through a range of guests and commentators, who support the political party of choice.
All produced in a manner that is relaxed, informative, and non-derogatory.
Viewers might not see (or hear) the Greens represented in anyway, but as they are the obstructive yappers in Australian politics, it’s not surprising.
