After conceding an early goal and losing their goalkeeper to injury, the team was on the back-foot.
They kept fighting, however, with goals in the final five minutes to Katia Turner and Bethan Cowley firing the side to victory.
The team will now travel to Canberra to take on Marian College in Friday’s quarter-final. A win will see the side qualify for September’s two-day finals event in Lake Macquarie.
“The girls are really confident at the moment,” coach Elise Battin said. “There’s a good vibe around our team. They’re probably a little bit shocked they made it so far, but they definitely think they can do it.”
“They’re gelling a lot more than earlier in the competition, which is really good.”
In the boys competition, Edmund Rice College’s Cup hopes came to an end in the round of 16, with a 3-1 loss to Bossley Park.
