Security cameras were operating at the Princes Highway Liquorland store about 7.45pm last night as the man entered with his face concealed behind a black balaclava, a large kitchen knife in his hand.
The male and female attendants, aged 20 and 22 respectively, are seen complying with the man’s demands.
Don Faulds Wollongong Police District duty officer, said the pair was left shaken by their ordeal.
“It was quite intimidating,” he said.
“He was quite aggressive with his behaviour and his nature and also it was a large weapon so they were quite shaken.”
The man was last seen running towards Park Road at Bulli.
He is described as standing 185cms tall, with a thin build and olive complexion. He wore dark clothing and carried a bag as he fled with cash and some alcohol.
Police are calling on anyone who may have witnessed the man’s escape, or anyone with knowledge of the incident, to make contact.
