A win would have sealed Coniston’s passage back to the top flight, however the second-placed Rosellas could still risen to the top of the ladder with victory in the penultimate blockbuster.
It was Bellambi who had the three points in their grasp first.
The two clubs were locked at 0-0 at the break before the Rosellas’ Tim O’Brien scored at the back post in the 55th minute.
In front of a healthy crowd ar Elizabeth Park, Coniston’s Hiroaki Kohinoki headed in the equaliser with eight minutes remaining. Coniston will now take a one point a advantage over Bellambi into the final round of the season.
Coniston face off against Helensburgh – one of just two sides to beat them this year – in round 22 while Bellambi meet fifth-placed Thirroul Thunder.
