Illawarra-based pro-wrestling promotion Rock ‘n’ Roll Wrestling will run a show at their Dapto academy this Saturday.
‘Fighting For Our Farmers’ will take place at Unit 6, 20-22 Marshall Street, Dapto from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Promoter Luke Potter said all proceeds will go towards helping drought-affected farmers.
He said the specific appeal they would donate to hadn’t been confirmed yet, but would most likely be Channel Nine’s Drought Relief Appeal.
He said due to the venue’s limited capacity, if the show sold out he would run another after the first one concluded.
“If we sell more than a hundred tickets we’ll put on another show that night,” he said. “We normally sell out anyway, but all the proceeds will go towards the appeal.
“We know that the farmers are really struggling, and we wanted to do our little bit in the community to give back.”
Potter said the show would feature Illawarra and Sydney performers, all of whom were donating their time.
He said they would also be collecting donations and running raffles on the night, and hoped to raise a minimum of $1000.
Tickets will be available at the door, or here.
