Alternating (stop/slow) traffic conditions are in place as repairs are carried out on fallen power lines.
6.40pm: Some of the fires have been extinguished, with fire crews in the process of blacking out.
The westbound traffic diversion on Appin Road remains in place.
6.20pm: Fire crews are on the scene of a number of grass fires burning at the top of Bulli Pass.
A number of NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW crews are in attendance.
It is understood three fires are burning in the area and power lines are down.
One of the fires is reportedly about five metres by 20 metres in size and is burning off Appin Road, near the intersection of the M1 Princes Motorway.
The NSW Transport Management Centre says westbound traffic on Appin Road is being diverted at the Princes Highway.
Smoke in the area may reduce visibility.
