NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet visited Wollongong on Wednesday to discuss issues important to community leaders, stakeholders and people living in the region.

The post-budget roundtable was a chance for the Illawarra to highlight priorities leading up to the next state election.
“It is great to be here with Member for Kiama Gareth Ward to visit the Illawarra and hear the concerns and interests of the business community and families”.
Mr Perrottet wants to know what the NSW Government can do to invest in the region at a time when the state was in a very strong financial position.
“Our economy is going incredibly well and we want to make sure that is translated into impact on the ground. We are listening and we have the capacity to make the investments that will make a real difference to people’s lives”.
Mr Perrottet said he was listening to local concerns about the South West Illawarra Rail Link and where there is a capacity to do so the government will invest, not just fund another study.
“If we say we are going to build something we will do it. We have an $87 billion infrastructure agenda over the next four years and we are going to make sure wherever you live in NSW you will have access to the best infrastructure. Gareth is always on my case and will make sure we make investments where they are needed.”
Mr Perrottet cited the Albion Rail Bypass, Princes Hwy from Berry to Bomaderry and Shellharbour Hospital as examples of that.
