Bailey Gregory Allen was arrested on Wednesday evening after police allegedly found him in possession of almost 10 grams of methamphetamine and more than $3000 cash – allegedly the proceeds of crime – during a vehicle stop at Dapto.
On Thursday, Wollongong Local Court heard Allen had only been released on bail on a separate set of charges a week ago.
He failed in his bid for freedom this time, however seemed more concerned after learning he wouldn’t be at liberty for his birthday in early September.
“But your Honour, I’m turning 21 between now and then,” Allen said when told his next court appearance wouldn’t be until mid-September.
“If you could find it in your heart to let me out...”
However, Magistrate Peter Thompson was unmoved by the plea and refused to alter his decision.
