Muscles groups that are tighter are less strong and powerful, more prone to being torn or strained and more prone to cramping. They are also a possible cause for surrounding tendon or joint issues.
There are many ways we can increase the flexibility and length of a muscle. These include:
- Stretching. Both through Range of Motion and Static stretches.
- Yoga. This will help your level of flexibility and co-ordination.
- Prehab. Work such as foam rolling, trigger balls and stretch bands all aim to help the flexibility and stretch capacity of a muscle.
