The documentary screening will aim to raise funds for Lifeline South Coast, and create awareness of the services they offer.

“Lifeline’s support services in the Illawarra continue to be at the forefront of responding to the call for help when people are at their lowest,” Lifeline South Coast CEO Rachel Norris said. 

“It seems only fitting that Lifeline is undertaking this fundraising screening about the life of a man who knows the value of their services.”

Based on the best-selling book, Mark Joffe’s documentary joins rock star Jimmy Barnes as he retraces his earliest steps through the hard streets of Glasgow.

It walks with Barnes as he revisits childhood ghosts in South Australia, reflecting on the domestic violence, poverty and alcoholism that would fuel his life.

The screening will take place on Wednesday, September 26 at Greater Union Cinema, Burelli Street, Wollongong at 6pm.

Tickets are $30 per person, which includes the screening, a drink and popcorn.
