Charlize Colwell has blitzed her rivals at the recent Australian Cross Country Championships on the Sunshine Coast.
Competing on a course that had the better of some of the country’s best long distance runners, the Oak Flats Primary School student finished the meet with three gold medals.
Colwell prevailed in the 11 years multiclass two kilometre individual cross country race. The victory played a key role in leading NSW to the teams gold medal.
Colwell then finished the championships on a high at the Maroochydore Cricket Club by leading the NSW team to victory in the 4x1km 10-12 years multiclass relay.
The Albion Park Little Athletics Club member was joined in Queensland by a number of other Illawarra runners. Maeve Bradbury finished 16th in the 12 years girls 3km race, while Montana Doubell was 24th in the 11 years girls 3km event.
