The Illawarra Turf Club was forced to abandon Saturday’s meeting at Kembla Grange after overnight rain made the Kembla Grange track unsafe for racing.
The track copped 48mm of rain throughout last week, with 15mm falling on Friday night before the eight race card.
The club was due to host its annual Berry Cup, Kevin Robinson Memorial Cup and Jim McGee Memorial Cup.
Illawarra Turf Club racing manager Michael Craig said a decision hadn’t been made about whether the Cup races will be rescheduled.
“It’s something we will discuss with the sponsors,” he said. The club is expected to host trials again on Wednesday, with racing next held on September 18.
Meanwhile, Kembla trainer Gwenda Markwell enjoyed a successful day in Sydney after Mandylion led all the way to win the Schweppes Handicap (1400m).
The classy mare beat Madame Markievicz by 1-¾ lengths, with Vienna Romance in third.
