Around two hours later crew aboard the Toll rescue chopper spotted the dinghy in the water about 30 kilometres east of Wollongong.

Boats headed out to the area to find the dinghy but rough seas hampered their efforts and they could not find the craft.
A Marine Rescue spokesman said the air and sea search was suspended.
The spokesman said no one had been reported missing and all boats in the area had been accounted for.
