Winning the Championship double in our competition isn’t easy, but Olympic were able to do it against very good APIA Leichhardt on the back of a starring performance by striker Alex Sanchez.
Goalscorers like Sanchez win you football games, it’s as simple as that.
He’s been able to do it consistently all season and had a double in the convincing 3-1 win.
It was clear that APIA were missing a top striker of their own, in the form of former Wollongong Wolves gun Jordan Murray.
Murray led the competition led the competition in goals scored before being deservedly snapped up by the Central Coast Mariners for the upcoming A-League season.
There is no doubt the Tigers were a better side and more potent attacking force with him on the paddock.
Elsewhere, our under 16’s boys are still midway through a finals campaign.
The boys got past Hakoah Sydney City East last weekend and face Sydney United 58 on Saturday for a spot in the grand final.
Good luck.
