This week employees have been encouraged to get together in teams and go for a walk and talk on North Beach.
Novotel Wollongong Northbeach talent and culture manager Emily Squires said it was all about creating connections and expects the hotel with 250 staff will now do it every year.
Monday afternoon’s activities included a barbecue lunch and afternoon tea where conversations were also encouraged..
“We thought we would also encourage them to have a walk on the beach and talk to each other and connect with the local community as well as the ocean. We also hosted a mindfulness activity for our team,” Mrs Squires said.
“The hotel is challenging our teams to have genuine 'from the heart' conversations. We also wish to provide our colleagues with the tools they need to start these meaningful conversations and find further support.”
“Accor has a range of resources and webinars for our teams to assist those team members if they are not OK, if they think a colleague is not OK or if they just want some guidance on de-stressing and focussing on what counts”.
