The man won the guaranteed first prize of $200,000 in Monday’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
In addition to winning the top prize, the man’s entry of seven consecutive numbers also won two consolation prizes, bolstering his total win to $202,000.
The man was in the midst of a busy workday when a NSW Lotteries official made contact with him on Tuesday morning to deliver the news.
“Oh Jesus,” the man said
“That’s going to come in handy.
“I’ve been playing Lucky Lotteries for years and I’ve come close a few times, but to win the big one is incredible.”
The winner said he and his wife had worked hard all their lives and would use the windfall to set themselves up for the future.
“This will help pay off some bills and get my nose in front,” he said.
“What a great day.”
The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, bought his winning entry of seven consecutive numbers from the Metro service station on Winnima Way, Berkeley.
