The stable confirmed to The Punt that Mandylion would run again in the next fortnight before aiming at the group three Angst Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on October 6.
Mandylion has returned in top order as a four-year-old and has finished no worse than third in four runs this preparation. The classy daughter of Nicconi, which won the Kembla Grange Provincial Championships Qualifier early this year, was at her terrific front-running best on Saturday at Rosehill Gardens.
Ridden by in-form apprentice Sam Weatherley, Mandylion led all the way to take out the Canadian Club Handicap (1500m) by 1-¾ lengths over Madame Markievicz, with Vienna Romance in third. It came after Kembla’s Saturday meeting was abandoned due to a rain-affected track.
