About 4.45pm on September 5, a man was involved in a domestic argument with a woman who was known to him at a home in Catalina, near Batemans Bay.
The woman was assaulted and her handbag stolen during the fight.
A short time later, a unit on Surf Beach Avenue, Surf Beach, was broken into and the male occupant assaulted.
A 60-year-old woman who lived in a nearby unit tried to intervene as the man was driving off in a vehicle. She was hit by the car and left with suspected leg and pelvic fractures.
A bystander came to the woman’s aid.
The man drove away from the area and was last seen in Tasman Street at Surf Beach after the stolen car he was travelling in hit a gutter.
Police from South Coast Police District commenced their inquiries to locate the man.
On Wednesday, NSW Police were told a 29-year-old man was being released from a Canberra hospital.
The man was held by virtue of an arrest warrant and taken to a Canberra court, where NSW Police sought his extradition.
He was then taken to Queanbeyan police station and charged with numerous offences including aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence, aggravated steal from person and assault (DV).
The man was refused bail to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on Thursday.
