Smyth, who was due for a few weeks break from the grind of tournament golf, earned a late call up to the US $1 million Shinhan Donghae Open in Korea. He took advantage of the opportunity, carding rounds of 69, 66,67 and 70 to finish in 7th place, further consolidating his position on the all important tour money list for 2018. The 23-year old lead the tournament during the third round, courtesy of a miraculous chip in for birdie on the tenth hole.
“My finish could have been better, but could have been a lot worse,” Smyth said. “I feel that in the past few months I am beginning to perform like the player I can be.”
Next up for Smyth is the JPY 150,000,000 Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup in Japan, which begins on Thursday.
Cordeaux Heights Tahnia Ravnjak posted her best finish of the year on the China LPGA Tour with a tie for 6th place in the Tieling Longshan Golf Challenge, which wrapped up on Saturday. Ravnjak carded rounds of 74,77, and 78 in the tough, windy conditions.
“It’s not the finish I wanted but tied 6th was OK,” Ravnjak said. “The course played tough with lots of wind and rain on the first day.”
Next on Ravnjak’s agenda is the PTT Thailand LPGA Masters at the Panya Indra Golf Club in Bangkok, Thailand, which is also the first event on the 2018/19 Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour.

The pair combined to card a four over par 76 to win by two shots from Nathan Whiteman & Danny Nesbitt of the Links Shell Cove.
